Dear Colleagues, Dear Friends, At the moment to take my function as the new president of the European Society of Gynecology, I would like to thank all of you for your confidence. I am really very honored by your decision. During my presidency I will do my best to continue the work of my predecessors particularly Dr. Clara PELISSIER with the help of Pr. Jean-Michel FOIDART. During this presidency I will try, with your help, to bring with modesty, a new impulse to our society. I would like to express the following whishes: 1 - Continuation of the successful ESG congresses and seminars. These events are the passport of our society particularly in front of the pharmaceutical companies. 2 -Opening at the ESG to other European gynecological societies such as EBCOG, EMAS, IMS, ISGE, ESGE, ESC, etc. but keeping our total independence. 3 - Continuation of the Alice and Albert NETTER prize. This prize represents the research aspect of the European Society of Gynecology. 4 - Continuation and improvement of our internet site. We must use this modern instrument more often . 5 - Initiation of a humanitarian action towards those who need it in Europe and eventually outside Europe, in the field of gynecology and more generally in reproductive health. 6 - "Europeanisation" of our statues. 7 - Above all we must speak more often and more efficiently on ourselves. That is to say that we must improve our communication towards the others and the media. Finally I think that we need a press-attaché, if our budget permits it. The actuality and the future of the European Society of Gynecology is between your hands. Thank you for your devotion to our dear and young society and for your attention. David SERFATY |
