« Jean-Michel FOIDART is an obstetrician-gynecologist who combines a career as researcher and a clinical responsibility of great magnitude. His reputation is tied to his fundamental work on the extracellular matrix of reproductive tissues and on cervical cancer in women. He is an expert of eclampsia, and of implantation and proliferation of breast cancer. Teaching at the College of Belgium, he has received numerous Belgian and international awards, including the grand prize from the National Fund of Scientific research in Belgium in 2005. He currently chairs the College "Mother/New Born", which advises the Health Minister as regards medicine of reproduction"
